The process to create a product: the seven keys that you cannot stop doing
Bringing an idea to life can be rewarding or very distressing. We
are going to tell you about the process so that you can create a successful
product.
#1. Be aware of the
limitations:
It is important to put in writing what the problem is. We are
not talking about a solution. Despite knowing her, put down on paper what prevents you from moving
forward. As incredible as it sounds, many work teams are
stuck in the
later stages of the process to
create a product. Because they did not recognize or remember that problem. They
are wasting time, money, and effort in the process.
#2. Detail your design
needs:
Here, we are going to make a sketch listing
the elements necessary to develop your idea, the basis
of the process
to create a product. Don't confuse this with a list of solutions to
problems; that's for later. This time we will focus on those things such
as at what price the product is going to be sold, its physical measurements,
qualities, materials, and others. It could be an infinite list. But
let's limit it to the things you think are necessary, for now.
#3. Shape your idea:
We begin to move. We already know our limitations, and we
have a clear idea of what we want. This is the time when the meetings are known as "brainstorming"
begin. They are meetings that serve to polish or finish
shaping projects.
Don't worry yet if your sketches don't look good. It is about
looking for obvious design errors before passing everything into the hands of a
designer.
We give you some advice: even though we are sure that your idea is
brilliant. Make sure you have an alternative, or variant, of the same
product on hand. It happens, sometimes, that we get to the designer's
board and realize that what we had in mind simply is not viable.
#4. Create a conceptual
model:
With a clear idea of what you famine, we will ask a designer to present a
model so that we can appreciate it in detail. And be sure that
it will work as a product. At this point in the process of creating a successful product, we
will decide whether to move on or end up in the trash.
#5. Planning the first
units:
Once the design problems that may appear in the conceptual stage
have been solved, we will make the diagrams of each part for the production
line. Likewise, we will
search for suppliers for each detail, and we will create an example version of
it. For
this reason, we
will be ready when we have prepared all the product plans and solved any
problems that may appear from the beginning.
# 6. Test your design:
This is a mandatory phase for any product, in which
we will know if it exceeds quality standards because it could culminate in a rejection that sends
us back to the drawing board.
Depending on the product you are about to launch, it may fall into
the hands of some people who use it and return their comments and opinions. Likewise, you must send it to specialized
laboratories designated by the authorities of your country to submit it to
chemical and physical studies. What's more, this last
scenario is what makes it so important not to skip this stage.
# 7. Let's bring the
product to life:
We will get the factory that can carry out the production work,
and we will agree on the guidelines on the preparation, quality, delivery
times, quantity, distribution, etc ...
Conclusion:
It is true that, in the process
of creating a successful product,
we want to see our dreams realized as soon as possible. But
as you can see, it is essential to take all the time
necessary.
At the very least, so far, it is
no longer
a drawing on the computer. Since the process to
develop a simple product, as we have mentioned, is a series of steps
many times, it will have trial and error. It should be noted that
perseverance is very important to overcome this situation and improve more and
more. Process in which extreme care must be taken to guarantee the correct
protection of our investment in time and money.
