Main competencies, skills and attitudes

There are several factors that are vital in determining the success or failure of an organization

but when we analyze these factors, we find that the human factor is one of the main defining pillars for the achievement of its objectives. These objectives, in turn, are derived from the needs of the organization, so the results of the work of industrial engineers in studying the needs of the organization and the decisions they can make in the design of production goals or improvement can guide the direction of the organization.

In this sense, it is important to climax the fundamental competencies, skills, and attitudes that an industrial engineers must develop throughout their professional life, which will help improve the decision-making process. An industrial engineer must develop a variety of skills that enable a vision of logistics to be activated when solving and innovating in any activity in production processes.

Among them:

Ability to formulate and evaluate projects, since companies are in constant development day by day, they must be able to visualize the implementation of new and better processes in industries that provide greater productivity.

Through the application of a quality control system, industrial engineers are responsible for ensuring the quality of the final product that will be delivered to the consumer, which must be previously evaluated against a set of norms and standards aimed at ensuring the continuous improvement of the organization.

Implement an operations research system in such a way that it allows to use of quantitative data to know the current state of production of the company, thus allowing to optimize production to the maximum, ensuring the profitability of the companies.

Likewise, you must develop various skills that help strengthen team collaboration to achieve success in the work environment, to achieve the common goals set within the organization.

Effective Communication: This skill allows you to successfully communicate an idea to a workgroup to achieve your goals.

Innovation: As I mentioned earlier since companies are constantly changing, existing processes need to be updated to keep the company growing.

Resilience: this ability allows you not to fall before adversity and perceive any defeat as a positive experience.

Likewise, the course of action and character that must be presented before the problems that arise in the work environment must be defined, and this behavior is the key element for making a decision aimed at success.

Leadership: This attitude allows us to positively influence the work team by letting them know what the goals are to achieve certain specific goals and what benefits will be for the entire company if they successfully achieve those goals. Leadership is not only communication, and it is instilling security and confidence in your entire work team, constantly motivating them to improve not only in the workplace but also in humans.

Organization: This attitude allows us to more effectively manage the tasks and activities that will be carried out in the organization so that the time that will be used to complete the planning of the proposed goals can be set.

Adaptability to change: Because companies are constantly changing, as mentioned above, this attitude is important if we want to break with the pattern of traditional and unproductive companies to be able to constantly innovate and adapt to new technologies, rules, and procedures.
